"I have always had a passion for the arts. While my career for 30 years was as an insurance professional, I continued enrolling in art classes and eventually had the opportunity to join a fiber art community while living in Wiscasset, Maine.I have studied under nationally known Deanne Fitzpatrick, a fiber artist and author, of Nova Scotia. Also, Jackie Hanson, a nationally known fiber artist and author, of Westbrook, Maine. For five years, I studied under Diane Langley, an artist and third generation rug hooker of Wildwood Studio in Wiscasset, Maine. Most of my rugs and mats are pictorials. I enjoy this style since it allows me to bring the beauty of places I have visited and places I have lived to my art. My first showing was a collection of fiber artists at the Cumberland County Fair in Portland, Maine. I received first prize. My work, since, has shown in Mariners Compass Quilt Shop in Bath, Maine, Savory Maine Restaurant in Damariscotta, Maine and the Saco Museum in Saco, Maine. As a newcomer to this area, I continue to be inspired by the beauty of Tennessee."
